Coming soon
Linux packages will be available with Skwir v0.1.0, the first public release.
Runs on any recent x86_64 Linux, with GNOME, KDE Plasma or any other desktop, on Wayland or X11, and a Vulkan-capable graphics card.
Helpers for more formats
Skwir reads most files on its own. A few formats lean on a package from Skwir's release or a tool you may already have; if one is missing, the preview panel says so, and Settings › Plugins names what to install.
From Skwir's release
skwir brings the app with its PDF, archive and 3D-model helpers; these add what fewer people need. On Arch, skwir holds the Poppler reader and the player, their libraries optional, and the other two are packages of their own.
| Package | What it adds |
|---|---|
skwir-media | Plays audio and video in the preview, through GStreamer. |
skwir-poppler | Reads PDFs through Poppler, beside the PDFium reader that comes with Skwir. Under the GPL v3. |
skwir-mermaid | Draws Mermaid diagrams in Markdown files. |
skwir-mupdf | Lays out PDFs and books in pages through MuPDF. Under the AGPL v3. |
